HKIA Tower Refurbishment
The refurbishment works involves the addition of vertical circulation to connect the two floors of the main lobby and the re-provision of reception counter on lower floor. The rest of the existing fit-out remains unchanged. The design intends to combine the new addition elements in one single feature piece by linking up the glass lift shaft and staircase with a glass parapet on the outside and the slab of staircase extends to form the reception counter to make a coherent new addition feature.
The works also include converting an existing office space to a gymnasium for staff. The gym assumes a gridded vault ceiling which floats above the main exercise area with a local drop over the island counter feature.
