Chow Sang Sang Miramall Store Facade

The design explored the potential of the allowable 600mm installation zone for wall signboard to attain a 3-dimensional re-interpretation of the brand mascot- shoal of fish.

Taking advantage of the openness of Kowloon Park on the opposite side and its west-facing orientation, the signboard assumed horizontal “grille” composition with the “fish” components twisting in different directions to register the change of sun angle at different times of the day. The façade comprises 7 panels and each has 92 sets horizontal component compositions.

Through the interplay of the different component profiles, their connection details, light and shadows, the signboards subtly manifested the exquisite craftsmanship cultivated in the jewellery making industry.
